Bored and Lazy

So, I've been conducting a little experiment to see how long I would actually stay excited and interested in my classes. Its a very intriguing question, very similar to the ever puzzling "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?".

Well, the results are in and I lasted until today - that would be four days before the lazy, unmotivated monster inside me came out. Not bad if I do say so myself! I have been watching Gilmore Girls all day instead of doing schoolwork, and I think I have learned much more from that anyway.

Now to further rot my brain, I think I will go laugh at people who can't sing on American Idol - although I can't carry a tune in a bucket. At least I know my lack of skills.

After that I think I will try to hook up my Super Nintendo that I brought back from home. I don't have the skills to play all these new fangled games, so I thought I would go back to my level...good ol' BomberMan. I think this is the best idea I've had all school year - yet another distraction!

I'm back!

I've not posted anything in a long while so I've decided to do a little update. Thus, in no particular order, here's a list of things I've been up to this summer.

1. Got wisdom teeth removed. Whoopee! I personally recommend this as an activity that everyone should start their summer with. Well, truthfully, it wasn't half as bad as it could have been, so I was grateful for that.

2. Started yet another summer working at the bank. This time the job includes such exhilarating activities as inventory (a.k.a. crawling around on the floor looking for very small stickers on the bottom of furniture), cleaning out the vault (also known as throwing away lots of junk and doing other peoples filing), running mail, and of course scanning.

3. Decided that one job just wasn't challenging enough! Yep, not only do I get the thrill of working at the bank, I'm also working at the concession stand at the infamous Tazewell Speedway. Unfortunately, no one mentioned what a bad idea it was for a clumsy person to do a job like this. I've already got coffee spilled all over me and tripped over a box, fell flat on my face and ripped my favorite pair of jeans!

4. Been in a small car accident. Long story short: Dark night, fog, wet road, sharp curve, CRASH! I was riding with mom and we skidded around a curve and crashed into another truck. Worst part of this story, this was my mom's first nice vehicle, and within two months its crashed.

5. Am currently taking Physics. This is just about the worst part of the summer so far. However, after the first week, I'm slightly less freaked out. On the plus side, I'm getting out of class about two hours before I'm supposed to everyday. I've not made my final judgment about the class...I'm thinking I'll reevaluate after my first test.

6. Ummm...I think that's about it. Well, its officially my birthday now, so I guess that's an event. ....twenty doesn't feel any different than being a teenager yet.

That's it for my summer report!

Laziness = Happiness

Just in case anyone out there is not aware of this fact, I thought I would make it known: being lazy makes me happy:-). Well, maybe not exactly being lazy, but at the very least avoiding all things productive. I have spent the past two days doing absolutely nothing, and I am a much happier person because of this.

First, I went to Red Lobster with Kerri yesterday. I have just two words: Cheese biscuits. Oh wait, one more: Yummy!!! Note to self: Leave campus at least once a week and go do something. This serves as a reality check, makes things less monotonous, and just generally makes life better.

Then, tonight I watched CSI and Bridget Jone's Diary, hung out with the roomies, Amanda, and Mickayla, and cooked. Sometimes, I just get in a mood to cook. Tonight, I ended up making chocolate no-bake cookies (w/ Amanda's help), chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and stuffing. All easy stuff, but pretty good. Cooking is just so relaxing; I even caught myself humming at some point this evening. I'm in way too good of a mood. Even a friend I talked to on the phone said I sounded like I was in a good mood. How do you sound in a good mood?

Not to worry though, seeing as how I've put off a history paper to do this weekend, and I have a lab final and unknown identification next week, I'm sure the stressed out, irritated me is sure to return soon.

Just a little side note: I'm much shorter than I thought I was, but apparently so is most everyone else in the room. After an encounter with a very tall guy in the elevator, we decided to measure everyone. I'm about 5'7 1/2, which is taller than Rachael, slightly taller than Stephanie and much shorter than Amanda. I never noticed that I was that much shorter than Amanda, and I find that very odd. Oh well, I guess I don't have a problem with my height though.

I'm through rambling now:-)

Thursday night t.v. as analyzed by a Hufflepuff

As I was being completely lazy, playing on the internet and avoiding all things productive, I decided I would check out everybodys' journal entries. I realized that I'm terrible at actually adding entries, and everyone else is putting me to shame. Therefore, I must write something to compensate.

I'm from Hufflepuff!

Hogwart's Sorting Hat Quiz

made by The Genki Gang

In a terrible "what house are you in" quiz, I was put in Hufflepuff. This was just fine and dandy with me until I actually read what they said about people who belong in Hufflepuff. It says "You like to boogie! You love your friends, who you value above all things, and you know how to have fun like no one's business… which is a good thing too, because despite all your hard work, you're not good at much else!" Now, really, does this sound like me??? If you answered yes, go away now!

I'm also terribly upset at what has happened to my Thursday night t.v. Has anyone else noticed this? Friends is in a continuous cycle of repeats...of course, they are dressed up as "favorite episodes" to make us overlook the fact that they are showing six weeks of reruns. On top of this, Scrubs (the greatest show on tv, for those of you who don't know) has been moved to Tuesday nights, and in its place is a terrible excuse of a show that I refuse to even name. Let me just say that the words "you're fired" by a man with the worst excuse for "hair" that I've ever seen does not amuse me in the least. However, despite this, Rachael has just pointed out something that made my day. March Madness is over, and CSI is new again!!! Yay! At least for an hour, my Thursday night t.v. bliss has been restored.

High Heels and Ice Skating

Well, tonight I went to a dinner, and because of my current obsession with polka dots, I had a new bright red dress with white polka dots. Of course with this, I wore a pair of oh so cute white sandals from the Wally World. Guess what? Very bad idea! New rule --- I'm never wearing heels on campus ever again for any reason!

So, when I got back stupid March Madness had taken over CSI, and the night was almost wasted until, alas we discovered the world figure skating championships on. Let me share a little of what I learned tonight. First, all the male skaters were looking particularly, ummm...feminine tonight with the main theme of the costumes being **glitter**. And, have you ever noticed that most male ice skaters have bubble butts? Well, they do, and its very frightening. Along with this, skaters' hair does some wacky things when they're jumping around and spinning in the air, and this was very amusing. Of course, as most sporting events go (can you call ice skating a sport?) the guy who won completely didn't deserve to, and my roomies have named him "The Noz" now. Hehe, that's it for now.

The Result of Procrastination

An organic lab tomorrow,a lab report due that I've not exactly finished, class starting at eight in the morning, and its currently midnight --- what should I do? I decided that now would be the perfect time to start that live journal that my crazy, ummm...I mean great, roomies have been talking about. Thus, tada, my first journal entry!
